As the CEO, I get the privilege of writing this section. If you know me, you know one of my biggest pride and joys is my team. And one of the biggest pieces to the success behind our company is this gentleman, Carl Gay.

Carl started working with us in December 2015. But before that, he was no stranger to this industry, bringing years of experience to the table. Carl is one of our best and most reliable cleaning technicians. From day one, he has always been dedicated to servicing his customers to the best of his ability, with professionalism, and most importantly, as a man of great integrity.

He primarily worked in the environmental department servicing our commercial contracted accounts.

As of the end of this last month, Carl has decided to hang up his hat and start enjoying retirement life! While you’re reading this, I want you to understand that I will not be able to put on paper just how great this guy is and how lucky we were to have him as a part of our team for so many years.

Over the years when we would have something major to solve, it didn’t matter who was working in the office or who was working out in the field, the first words out of any of our team members’ mouths were to give Carl a call because they needed him to be able to fix it.

The best way to describe Carl is that he is the true definition of a committed, reliable team player. Though he primarily focused on our commercial accounts, I can’t recall any instance over the past nine years of Carl working with M.C. Shine that he called off or didn’t say yes to working a double shift or even coming in at the last minute to help assist on emergency losses! On large projects, everybody wants Carl because they know he will show up and do his job.

Because of team members like you, we are able to serve our community by making it a safer and cleaner place to work and live. During the pandemic, there was a lot of scary stuff going on, and you showed up every day. It didn’t matter if you were going to a medical facility or to a factory; you took your job seriously and understood how important it was to keep a facility clean and sanitized.

Aside from being such a powerhouse player on our team, Carl is a proud dad and grandfather. I know one of the biggest things that he talked about
a lot in the office was supporting his grandkids with all of their sports and, of course, the love for his dog!

Though we will miss you, Carl, this team is excited for you in this next adventure. You absolutely deserve it, my friend. I hope you have many more years of enjoying the family you love so much.

Thank you for all of the years you gave to M.C. Shine, all of the hard work, early mornings, and late nights…all while having a smile and a positive attitude. And good luck to the ones taking over your accounts because they have some big shoes to fill! You will be missed, my friend. Don’t be a stranger!
